When a document is signed with Electronic Identification, you can now choose the exact eID method each recipient must use, instead of leaving them to pick from the full list of providers. This is especially useful for cross-border deals, where a single document goes to signers in different Nordic markets and each signer should land directly on their own national eID.
Where to find the eID provider dropdown
Open the recipient details for the document or template you are editing. Set the signing method for that recipient to Electronic identification. A new eID provider dropdown appears below the signing method.
Available options
From the eID provider dropdown you can:
Keep all options available. The recipient sees the full list of eID providers on the signing page and chooses one themselves. This is the previous default behavior.
Restrict to a specific provider. The recipient is taken straight to the selected provider on the signing page, with no choice to make. Currently selectable providers are:
BankID Sweden
MitID (Denmark)
BankID Finland, also known as the Finnish Trust Network (FTN)
Setting the method per recipient or per template role
The eID method can be set in two places:
Per recipient on a specific document, when editing the recipient details before sending.
Per template role, so any document created from that template inherits the eID method for that role. This is the recommended approach for repeatable workflows that always send to the same markets in the same combination.
When to use this
Cross-border deals. Send one document to signers in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland and point each of them straight to their own national eID. No one sees options that do not apply to them.
Repeatable workflows. Bake the right eID method into your contract templates, so reps do not have to remember to change it for every send.
Reducing signing-page friction. A signer who only sees their own eID provider is less likely to pause, pick the wrong option, or contact support.
Pro-tip: If you send through the GetAccept API, the same eID method can be set programmatically per recipient when creating a document. Contact your GetAccept representative for the current parameter reference.
