Review and edit AI-extracted contract data

Learn how to review, verify, and update the contract data extracted by AI in Contract Management.

Review extracted contract information

When a contract is uploaded or signed in GetAccept, AI scans the document and extracts important contract data - including both standard fields and any custom data fields your admin has set up. You can review this information directly in the contract details to ensure everything has been captured correctly.


View extracted contract data

Follow these steps to review the information extracted from a contract.

1. Open Contract Management

Go to the Contract Management repository in your workspace.

2. Select a contract

Click on the contract you want to review.

3. Open the contract details panel

The contract details display all extracted fields and metadata.

Here you can view information such as:

  • Company name

  • Contract dates

  • Renewal terms

  • Notice period

  • Payment terms

  • Contract value

  • Custom data fields (any business-specific fields your admin has configured, such as indexation percentage, SLA tier, or contract size)

The system also highlights where the data was identified in the contract document. AI-extracted values are marked with an AI attribution indicator so you always know where the data came from.


Edit contract information

If any extracted data needs to be updated, you can edit the contract fields manually.

To edit contract data:

  1. Open the contract details panel

  2. Select the field you want to update

  3. Enter the correct information

  4. Save the changes

This ensures your contract repository always reflects the most accurate data.

Note: AI only populates empty fields. If you have already entered a value manually, AI will never overwrite it.


Why reviewing contract data matters

Reviewing extracted contract information helps ensure:

  • Renewal and notice dates are correct

  • Contract values and payment terms are accurate

  • Custom data fields contain the right business-specific values

  • Your contract repository remains a reliable source of information

Once verified, the extracted data can be used to filter, organize, and track contracts across your organization. AI-extracted custom field values are available as filterable columns in the list view with no extra configuration needed.


AI extraction for custom data fields

AI Contract Management now extends automatic extraction to custom data fields - the business-specific fields your admin defines in workflow settings and attaches to contract templates.

When a contract is signed or uploaded, AI reads the document and fills in any custom fields that are present on the contract at that time. This means fields like industry, region, project ID, or any other data point your team tracks are populated automatically - no manual entry required.

Supported field types

AI extraction works across all four custom field types:

  • Text

  • Number

  • Boolean

  • Set values

Extract custom field data from previously signed contracts

If a contract was signed before a custom field was added to the template, you can still extract the data using the retro flow:

  1. Open the contract from your Contract Management repository

  2. Go to the Custom Data section in the contract details panel

  3. Click + Select custom data field to add the relevant field

  4. Click the Re-analyze with AI button at the top of the contract details panel

AI will scan the document and populate the field automatically.

Pro-tip: Custom fields must be present on the contract before signing for AI to extract them automatically. Use the retro flow above for any contracts that were signed before the field existed.
