Updated over 2 weeks ago

When someone sends you a document through GetAccept, you can open it from email, SMS, or a shared link to complete the signing process. This guide explains how to access your document, fill in required fields, and finalize your signature.

1. Open the document

You can access the document through the following three methods:

  • Open from Email: Open the GetAccept email and select View Document. The document will open in a new browser tab.

  • Open from a Hyperlink or Thumbnail: Click the link or preview image in your message to open the document directly.

  • Open from SMS: Tap the link in your SMS message to open the document in your mobile browser.

Once the document is open, you can view, comment, and sign the file. Depending on the sender's settings, you may also be able to download or print the document before signing.

2. Review the document and complete fields

Before you can sign the document, you must carefully review the content and fill out any required fields.

  1. Navigate through the document to find highlighted fields.

  2. Complete all required fields, which may include text boxes, initials, checkboxes, or date fields.

  3. The signing page will automatically guide you to the next required field until the document is ready for signature.

3. Complete the signing method

The available signing methods are determined by the sender's security and document settings. You will be prompted to use one or more of the following:

  • Click-to-Sign: Select Sign or Accept and Sign. This is the most common method and provides a fully legally binding audit trail.

  • Drawn Signature: Use your mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen to draw your signature manually.

  • Initials: Place your initials in the designated fields when prompted by the system.

  • Electronic ID (eID): Use a national e-ID solution (such as BankID) to verify your identity. This provides the highest level of legal assurance.

4. What happens after you sign

Once all required parties have completed their signatures, the document becomes a sealed, legally binding agreement.

  • Receive your copy: You will automatically receive an email containing a PDF copy of the signed document and a Signature Certificate.

  • Signature Certificate: This document provides the audit trail, showing exactly who signed, when they signed, and the method used.
