Overview
Duplicating and reusing templates allows you to quickly create variations of your existing content without starting from scratch.
You can duplicate full templates, convert any document into a reusable template, or save specific content blocks as reusable resources.
How to Duplicate a Template
If you already have a template you’d like to reuse or modify, you can duplicate it directly from the Content Library.
Go to Content Library → Templates.
Hover over the template you want to copy.
Click the ⋯ (More actions) menu.
Select Duplicate.
Rename your new template and make any edits as needed.
Duplicating templates makes it easy to maintain consistent designs while adapting content for different teams, languages, or markets.
How to Convert a Document into a Template
If you have a draft or sent document you’d like to reuse, you can easily convert it into a template.
Open the document.
Click the ⋯ (More actions) menu.
Select Convert to template.
Name your new template and confirm.
Notes:
The original document remains unchanged.
Recipients are not notified.
Assigned recipients are replaced with template roles (Signer, Internal Approver, External Approver, or Viewer).
How to Save Content Blocks as Reusable Resources
You can save specific sections—such as pricing tables, legal clauses, or summaries—as reusable content.
Open a document or template in the Editor.
Hover over the block you want to reuse.
Click the ⋯ (More actions) menu.
Select Save as reusable content.
The block is now available in your Content Library → Resources.
To reuse it:
Open any template or document.
Click Add section → Resources.
Select the saved block to insert it.
How to Duplicate a Resource
To create a variation of a reusable content block:
Go to Content Library → Resources.
Hover over the content you want to copy.
Click the ⋯ (More actions) menu.
Select Duplicate.
Rename and edit as needed.
Duplicating resources helps you keep a consistent base while tailoring content for different audiences or use cases.
Best Practices
Use duplication to maintain consistency while allowing for local variations.
Convert high-performing documents into templates for easy reuse.
Build a library of reusable sections (pricing tables, legal clauses, summaries) to save time.
Regularly review and update templates to keep your content library organized.
Limitations
Converting a document to a template does not affect the original document.
Recipient details are not included when converting.
Templates are not automatically updated if the original document changes.
Deleting a template or resource is permanent.
