Overview

The Date Input element allows you to add structured date fields to your document in the GetAccept Editor. It uses a calendar picker to ensure dates are selected accurately and consistently, reducing manual entry errors.

The Date Input element is available wherever form fields are supported in the editor.

What you can do with the Date Input element

With the Date Input element, you can:

  • Collect dates from senders or recipients

  • Ensure correct date formatting using a calendar picker

  • Assign responsibility for date entry to a specific role

  • Require or optionally collect date information

  • Add descriptive labels and optional help text

Selecting dates

When interacting with a Date Input field:

  • Clicking inside the field opens a calendar view

  • Dates are selected directly from the calendar

  • Manual typing is avoided to prevent formatting errors

Required fields

Date input fields are required by default.

If the date is optional, you can turn off the required setting in the formatting bar.

Assigning the field

Date input fields can be assigned to either:

  • The sender

  • A specific recipient

This determines who is responsible for selecting the date before the document can be completed.

Labels and help text

Each date input field requires a label that describes the purpose of the date (for example, “Start date”).

Optional help text can be added below the field to provide additional context or instructions.

Managing the field

Date input fields can be resized, moved, locked, or deleted as your document content changes.
