How to access settings on a document in a draft

When you have uploaded your document, you will notice three dots in a lineup in the right corner, above the document. This is the draft action menu.

Here you get two options:

  1. Settings

  2. Delete

To be able to preview your document, simply click on the eye symbol on the left of the draft action menu.

What settings you can make

In the draft settings you can change the following:

  1. Expiration date and time

  2. Contract start and end date (only available with Contract Management)

  3. Document Owner

  4. Document type

  5. Use handwritten signature

  6. Sign document with initials

  7. Allow signature transfer

  8. Private document

How to change the document owner in a document draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu (the three dots up to the right when in draft mode)

  2. Choose "Settings"

  3. Choose who should be the new owner

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Done!

Please note:

  • You can change the document owner before sending a document.

    By changing the owner the notifications and statistics will transfer to them.

  • You can't change the owner on a sent document that yet hasn't been signed. You can only change it in the draft or after it has been signed.

How to enable signature transfer on a document in a draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu (the three dots up to the right when in draft mode)

  2. Choose "Settings"

  3. Tick in "Allow signature transfer"

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Done!

Please note!

  • Sometimes the added signer isn't the one that should sign the document. They can then transfer their signing rights to the correct recipient.

  • If you don't have Transfer Signing Rights as a default in your settings, you can always do it on a per-document basis.

  • A recipient can't transfer their signing rights to an already existing recipient of the document. If they wish to do that they will need to contact you, the sender. You will then have to create a new version where you correct the recipient roles.

How to enable 'Sign document with initials' on a document in a draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu

  2. Choose "Settings"

  3. Tick in "Sign document with initials"

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Done!

How to disable a signature with initials in a draft

  • If you accidentally added an initials field to your document, the Sign document with initials option will automatically be ticked in under the draft settings.

  • To disable handwritten signatures you have to do the following below:

  1. Remove the initials field from the document

  2. Click on the draft action menu

  3. Choose "Settings"

  4. Tick out "Sign document with initials"

  5. Click "Save"

  6. Done!

How to make a document private on a document in a draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu (the three dots up to the right when in draft mode)

  2. Choose "Settings"

  3. Tick in "Private document"

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Done!

Sometimes you send documents out that contain sensitive information you may not want others on your team to have access to.

When a document is marked as private other users will get the error message "Could not find the document" when they try to open it.

Please note!

  • A private document will not appear in any statistics or in contract management.

  • An admin can always see all user's documents. Even if they are marked as private.

How to set the start and end date for a document in a draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu (the three dots up to the right when in draft mode)

  2. Choose "Settings"

  3. Edit the contract start and end date

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Done!

With the feature Contract Management, you can set a contract start and end date before sending it to a recipient.

When the contract has been signed you will receive a notification when the contract is about to expire.

How to enable handwritten signature on a document in a draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu (the three dots up to the right when in draft mode)

  2. Choose "Settings"

  3. Tick in "Use handwritten signature"

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Done!

How to disable handwritten signature in a draft

To disable handwritten signatures you have to do the below.

  1. Remove the signature field from the document

  2. Click on the draft action menu (the three dots up to the right when in draft mode)

  3. Choose "Settings"

  4. Tick out "Use handwritten signature"

  5. Click "Save"

  6. Done!

  • Please note!

    • If you have added a signature field to your document, the "Use handwritten signature" option will automatically be ticked in under the draft settings.

    • To disable the setting you will then have to remove the signature field from the document.

How to delete a document in a draft

  1. Click on the draft action menu

  2. Choose "Delete"

  3. You will get a pop-up window asking you if you wish to delete it

  4. Click "Delete"

  5. Done!

You can delete the draft through the draft action menu or, from the dealboard.
