Locking a Pricing Table prevents accidental changes to products, pricing, or calculations after your document is prepared.
Admins can choose whether pricing tables are locked by default in templates or allow users to unlock them for custom adjustments.
Step 1: Understand how locking works
When a Pricing Table is locked:
Users can’t edit product rows, prices, or discounts.
They can still preview and send the document.
The table remains read-only until it’s unlocked by someone with permission (typically an Admin).
When unlocked, authorized users can:
Add or remove products
Adjust prices, taxes, or discounts
Edit descriptions or totals
This flexibility ensures that only approved team members can change pricing data, maintaining control over your brand and pricing integrity.
Step 2: Lock a Pricing Table in a template
Admins can set tables to be locked by default at the template level:
Open your template in the GetAccept Editor.
Click inside your Pricing Table.
Open the settings menu from the formatting bar.
Click Lock Pricing Table to ON.
Once locked, this table will remain read-only for all users who send documents based on this template.
Best for standard quotes or fixed-price contracts where values shouldn’t change per send-out.
Step 3: Unlock a Pricing Table when editing
If you have edit permissions, you can unlock a table temporarily to make changes:
Open your document in the Editor.
Click inside the locked Pricing Table.
Select Unlock Pricing Table in the toolbar.
You’ll now be able to make edits — such as adding a product or updating a price.
When finished, you can relock it before sending.
Note: Unlocking a table doesn’t affect other templates or documents. The change applies only to the current send-out.
Step 4: Manage lock settings
Locking is controlled directly within each template or document.
Admins and document creators decide whether a pricing table should be editable or fixed.
Templates: Set the table to Locked before publishing to ensure consistent pricing for all send-outs.
Documents: Unlock the table temporarily when adjustments are needed, then lock it again before sending.
This approach gives your team flexibility while keeping pricing accurate and consistent across all proposals.
Best practice
Keep templates locked for standardized pricing.
Allow selected users to unlock for custom deals or discounts.
Combine locking with CRM integrations to ensure consistent pricing.
Clearly label locked tables in your templates for transparency.
