Send a contract from an AI-native Deal Room

Create and send a contract from the Contracts area of a published AI-native Deal Room using the three-step send wizard.

Inside a published AI-native Deal Room, the Contracts tab shows the contract templates that were added to the Deal Room template, ready for you to send. For how those contract templates are curated on the template side, see Set up contract templates in an AI-native Deal Room template. Sending a contract from inside a Deal Room keeps the document alongside the rest of the room's content and tied to the same buyer context.

Note: This is part of the AI-native Deal Room experience. If your entity has not opted in to the upgraded experience, the Contracts area of a Deal Room looks different. See AI-native Deal Rooms for an overview.

Open the Contracts area of the Deal Room

From inside the Deal Room, select Contracts in the left side navigation. You see the contract templates that were added to the Deal Room template, each with a Use template action. A Create contract action at the top lets you start a contract outside of a template.

Start the send flow

Click Use template on the contract you want to send. A three-step wizard opens with these steps along the top:

  1. Update info

  2. Recipients

  3. Finalize

You can move forward with Next, step back with Back, or exit at any point with Cancel.

Step 1: Update contract information

The first step lets you fill in the contract-specific details that personalize this send-out:

  • Contract name. The name shown on the contract, often inherited from the template.

  • Company. The customer company the contract is for.

  • Document type. For example, Sales.

  • Expiration date. When the contract is no longer valid for signing.

  • Contract value. The value of the contract, with the currency shown next to the field.

Click Next to continue.

Step 2: Assign recipients

The contract template comes with predefined recipient roles (for example, Signer). Step 2 lets you map each role to a specific person before sending. You cannot send the document until every required role has a recipient assigned.

Click Reassign next to a role to change who it is mapped to. Use Back to return to step 1 if you need to change contract info.

Step 3: Finalize or continue in the room

When you reach step 3 you see Contract draft is created! The draft is now saved in the Deal Room and visible on the right-hand side of the screen with the recipient you assigned.

You have two options at this point:

  • Finalize contract. Continue into the contract send flow to finalize and send the contract out for signature.

  • Continue in this room. Close the wizard and keep working in the Deal Room. The contract draft remains in the Contracts area of the room and you can return to it later to finalize.



Pro-tip: Before clicking Finalize contract, review the recipients in step 2. After finalization the contract enters the standard send flow, and changing recipients there requires recalling and re-sending.
