Template-level reminders let admins configure automated reminder settings directly on a template. When a document is created from that template, the document inherits the reminder timing from the template instead of relying on the entity-level defaults. This gives teams workflow-specific follow-up behavior without manually adjusting each document.
Plan availability
Template-level reminders are included in the Professional and Enterprise plans (including web trial and sales trial). The E-sign plan does not include this feature.
How template-level reminders work
When a document is created from a template, GetAccept resolves the reminder settings in this order:
Template-level reminder settings apply if they are configured on the template the document was created from.
Entity-level reminder settings apply as the default when the template does not have template-level reminders configured.
Per-document adjustments can still be made after a document is created if a sender needs to fine-tune the reminders for a specific send-out.
Note: Template-level reminders override entity-level reminders only when they are configured on the template. Entity-level reminders continue to act as the default for any template without its own reminder configuration.
When to use template-level reminders
Template-level reminders are most useful when you run several workflows with different urgency levels. For example:
Repair or service flows that need faster follow-up cadence.
Standard contract or renewal flows that benefit from a softer cadence.
Equipment or upgrade quotes with specific time-sensitive follow-ups.
Teams using a structured template library where different document types should always behave differently.
Where to configure template-level reminders
Contract templates (Contracts)
Open the contract template you want to configure and go to the reminder settings section. Configure the reminder triggers and timing the same way you would on the entity-level settings.
Pro-tip: Configure the reminder rhythm once on each template that needs different behavior. Senders no longer need to remember to adjust reminders for each new send-out, and follow-up cadence stays consistent across the team.
