Overview
Section Prompts let content managers define how AI should generate or update specific sections in Deal Rooms, templates, and resources.
Instead of sales reps writing prompts or opening the AI editor, each section has a predefined prompt attached to it. Reps simply click Update section or Update all to generate tailored content instantly.
What are Section Prompts
A Section Prompt is an AI instruction attached to a single section in a page.
When a rep updates that section, AI uses:
The predefined prompt
The selected data sources
The current deal context
to generate clean, structured content directly in the section.
The prompt itself stays hidden and is never shown in the live content.
Why use Section Prompts
Before Section Prompts, reps had to decide:
Which prompt to use
How to phrase it
What context AI should consider
This often led to inconsistent results and extra manual work.
Section Prompts remove that decision-making. Each section already knows what it’s supposed to contain, so reps can focus on selling instead of prompting.
How Section Prompts work
A content manager attaches a prompt to a specific section
The manager chooses which data sources AI can use (Content, Buyer Data, Knowledge, Meetings)
The prompt is saved behind the scenes
A rep clicks Update section
AI generates or refreshes the content in that section
Prompts persist over time and are not overwritten.
Using Section Prompts in templates and resources
Section Prompts work in:
Deal Room templates
Content resources
Live Deal Rooms
This allows content managers to turn existing templates and resources into reusable smart content, such as Discovery Summaries, Business Cases, or Executive Summaries.
Each section can have its own purpose and prompt.
Updating content with Section Prompts
Update section regenerates only the selected section
Update all regenerates all sections on the page that have a Section Prompt
Content is only updated when a user clicks an update action.
Editing after generation
After a section is generated with a Section Prompt, reps can still use Edit with AI to refine or customize the content further.
Section Prompts handle the first draft. The AI editor can be used for follow-up edits.
Permissions and control
Admins and owners of templates or shared resources can create and edit Section Prompts
Reps cannot edit prompts on shared templates or shared resources
Reps can adjust prompts in their own Deal Rooms or personal resources
This keeps shared content consistent while allowing flexibility where appropriate.
What Section Prompts don’t do
They don’t overwrite content automatically
They don’t change templates unless run
They don’t remove access to the AI editor
Why this matters
Section Prompts help teams:
Standardize messaging across deals
Keep templates clean and easy to maintain
Reduce manual work for reps
Generate more consistent, high-quality AI content
By defining structure upfront, content stays organized and easy to update throughout the deal lifecycle.
