Add Recipients to Your Document

Learn how to add and assign recipients when creating your document.

Once your document is ready, the next step is to add the people who will sign, approve, or view it. You can do this directly in the document creation flow — before you finalize and send.


Step 1: Open the Recipients panel

When your document draft is ready, open the Recipients section on the right side of the document builder.
You’ll see options to either Add new recipient or Add existing contact.


Step 2: Add an existing contact

If your recipient already exists in your GetAccept contact list, you can search and add them instantly:

  1. Click in the Add existing contact search field.

  2. Start typing their name, email, company, or mobile number.

  3. Select the correct contact from the list to add them as a recipient.

This is the fastest option if you regularly send documents to the same people, such as clients or colleagues.


Step 3: Add a new recipient

If the person hasn’t been added before:

  1. Click Add new recipient (+).

  2. Enter their name, email address, and optional mobile number (required if you plan to use SMS verification).

Once added, this person will automatically be stored in your contact list for future use.

Choose recipient roles

Each recipient has a role that defines their permissions and responsibilities in the signing process:

  • Signer: Must sign the document before it’s complete.

  • Approver: Reviews and approves but does not sign.

  • Viewer: Can see the document but doesn’t need to act (similar to CC).


Step 4: Set signing order

You can decide if recipients sign in sequence or all at once.

  • Drag and drop recipients to rearrange their signing order.

  • Give multiple recipients the same order number if they should sign in parallel.


Step 5: Add verification or authentication

You can require recipients to verify their identity when opening or signing a document.

  • Click the padlock icon next to a recipient’s name.

  • Choose an authentication method, such as SMS code, password, or eID (Nordic markets).


Step 6: Save and continue

Once all recipients are added and configured:

  • Review their details and signing order.

  • Click Save to return to your document.

  • You can still make changes before sending.
