Set deadlines and track progress on Mutual Action Plan milestones

Mutual Action Plans (MAPs) in your Deal Room now give you more flexibility in how you track progress. You can set milestones as Not started, In progress, or Completed independent of task completion, and assign deadlines to milestones for both past and future dates. This update is designed for sales teams and deal coordinators who use MAPs to track multi-stakeholder deals, helping you keep your action plans aligned with how deals actually move.

What's new for milestones

Milestones in your Mutual Action Plan now support two key capabilities: progress states and deadlines. Together, these give you a clearer, more realistic view of where each part of the deal stands.

  • Progress states: Set any milestone as Not started, In progress, or Completed, regardless of how many tasks underneath it are finished.

  • Milestone deadlines: Add or edit deadlines on milestones using past or future dates, so your documentation reflects real-world timelines.

How milestone progress works

Room owners and collaborators can change a milestone's status at any time. The status of individual tasks and the status of the milestone are now independent, which means you can mark a milestone as achieved even if a few final tasks are still underway.

To keep things convenient, milestone statuses also update automatically based on task activity:

  • A milestone moves to In progress when one or more of its tasks are started or completed.

  • A milestone moves to Completed when all of its tasks are completed.

  • Changing a milestone's status manually does not affect the status of its individual tasks.

Pro-tip: Use manual status changes to reflect strategic progress (for example, marking a milestone as Completed when the broader goal is achieved), and let automatic updates handle day-to-day task activity.

Setting milestone deadlines

Open the milestone in your Mutual Action Plan and add or edit its deadline. You can choose dates in the future to plan ahead, or set past dates to keep historical records accurate. This is especially helpful when you need to log when a milestone was actually achieved, rather than when it was marked complete in the system.

Where this works

These updates are available for Deal Rooms managed directly within GetAccept as well as for rooms managed through CRM integrations. Milestone statuses and deadlines sync to your connected CRM so your team stays aligned no matter where they work.

Limitations

Note: This update applies to both the core app and CRMs, but Salesforce won't be ready for the first release. It will follow at a later date.
