Set or Update a Document Expiration Date

Learn how to choose or change when your document expires.

Updated today

You can set an expiration date to control how long recipients have access to a document. This helps you keep contracts and offers valid only within a specific time period โ€” and you can always adjust it later if needed.

Step 1: Set the expiration date when creating your document

When you create a new document, you can define when it will expire:

  1. Click on the Expiration date field.

  2. Choose the desired date and time when you want the document to expire.

This ensures your recipients can only open and sign the document within that time frame.

Step 2: Update the expiration date in a document draft

If your document is still in Draft, you can easily change the expiration date before sending:

  1. Open the draft and click the action menu (three dots).

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Edit the Expiration date and time.

  4. Click Save to apply your changes.

Thatโ€™s it! Your draft now has an updated expiration date โ€” ready to send when you are.
