You may want to always have the same recipient, approver, or signer in the document workflow every time you use the template. 

For example, if you wanted to set up an internal approver to check the document before it is sent out to the client, you can do so by adding the recipient to the document workflow. If you want to add the external client as a signer after the document is approved, you can add a role after the approver.
